" I'm a PC and I don't wear a suit."

Master Word 2007 in 30 mins.

Anyone who follows the above points 1 - 9 should have no problems using the new ribbon interface. In fact, I reckon you can breeze through it in less than half an hour.

Which leaves plenty of time to brew a cup of tea and watch a video guide or two on YouTube.

By following the video tutorial link, you will also see how easy it is to transform a page of standard text into a professional looking document in a matter of seconds.

This is possible by selecting from a series of ready made layouts and styles to suit any document or occasion.

There are also official video guides to help you with other programs in the Office 2007 range such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Don't be afraid of change: embrace it!

OLW: Office Live Workspace

Another way to enhance your Word 2007 experience is to sign up for a FREE Office Live Workspace.

The login page features a video clip that explains what it is and how it makes your life a lot easier.

Essentially, it allows you to save all your documents online so that you can access them from anywhere.

That means you don't need to phone your flatmate to email them to your University account, you don't need to remember to put them on a USB memory stick which you sometimes forget, and you won't lose them if your laptop hard drive fails after one too many bittorrent sessions.

And with all the free time you've saved by simply knowing how to use Word 2007 and save files online you can do important stuff, like doing your laundry.

Remember, no matter what age you are it's always useful to remind yourself of the basics. Have fun!
