I love it when Windows 7 Ireland comes together
Software's A-Team Deliver The Goods.
by
SoftwareGuru
"In 2007 a crack programmer unit was sent to the prison of EPIC
FAIL by the internet for a crime they didn't commit. These men
promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the
lifehacker underground.
Today, still wanted by the internet, they survive as soldiers of
fortune. If you have a problem, if you've finally realised that
XP is butt ugly, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire
the A-Team."
Bursting through the critics like a punch from Mr. T, Microsoft
is back to its crowd-pleasing best with the arrival of
Windows 7 in Ireland.
Realising that Vista's original 64-bit design with it's
RAM-hungry belly was never going to win over the mid-to-low end
machines (the watered down 32-bit version only existed
because PC manufacturers thought it would help hardware sales),
the follow-up was always going to take a different approach.
Now at Software4Students Ireland you can
discover the newest member of the windows family and finally see
the difference for yourself.

This Time There Is No Compromise
Now, don't be scared by the following tech-talk. Windows 7 for
Irish home users comes in two versions so you need to know which
is right for you...
Please note that your computer must have a 64-bit
compatible processor to run 64-bit Windows 7 software.
Windows 7 is available in either
32-bit or
64-bit flavours and choosing which version is right for you
really depends on which type of programs you intend to use.
For the typical Irish home user who likes to
surf the net, check email, enjoy multimedia content and do all
of the regular run-of-the-mill things, the 32-bit version will
do just fine.
While Microsoft are correct that 1GB of RAM will run Windows 7
smoothly, by the time you install all of those other resource
hogging programs you'll be wishing that you'd invested in that
extra memory to bring it up to 2GB. Especially with memory
prices being fairly cheap these days.
If you're on a tight budget, a USB stick
(external) can be used to enable the ReadyBoost function which
will help performance to some degree although extra RAM
(internal) is infinitely better and worth every penny.
For home users who enjoy computer games, or use
professional standard programs such as any in the Adobe CS4
range, 64-bit Windows 7 is the best option available.
32-bit architecture means that the OS generally can't see past
3GB of RAM. This is regardless of how much is installed in your
computer.
Therefore, to benefit from 4GB of RAM or more, and to ensure
your system has enough horsepower to do everything you could
ever want it to, Software4Students advise customers in Ireland
to buy the 64-bit Windows 7 edition.
Both Windows 7 versions have an exclusive feature
that allows it to run a program in Windows XP mode. This is good
news if you happen to use an older program which you found to be
slightly buggy in Vista. In truth, the feature is aimed more at
business IT departments than home users but it is worth having
regardless.

Save Money By Upgrading.
Parents in Ireland who want value for money now have excellent
options as to how they can improve their home computer
experience on a low budget.
As opposed to buying a new PC, adding an extra stick of RAM
memory and purchasing Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit from
Software4Students can provide many of the the performance gains
of a new computer but at a fraction of the price.
The Hard Disk Drive Issue
Providing you
check the health of your computer hard drive BEFORE you
install Windows 7 and there are no bad areas found by your
hard disk monitor software, you're all set to revamp your
current system.
If you're confused by the idea of a "hard drive failing" think
of your PC the same way as you do a car. As the first article
linked above states:
"Part of the routine maintenance procedures of both cars and
computers is making sure worn parts are replaced before they
fail completely and catastrophically."
Something as simple as a 30 minute scan of your drive could save
you many hours of frustration in the long run.
Ireland: Windows 7 is finally here and it's time to enjoy
the benefits it brings to our daily digital lives.
As Hannibal from The A-Team might say, I love it when a plan
comes together.
