Pimp My Mobile! by SoftwareGuru A lot has been written and published about the iPhone and its game changing app store. However, non-iPhone users still make up the majority of the mobile market and with mobile internet usage on the rise, so too is the need for quality mobile software. If your phone runs Windows Mobile OS, take a look at their website to discover all of the useful features and free software applications available to you such as Office Mobile, Internet Explorer or Windows Live Messenger. Over at Mesh.com you can use your Windows Live ID to connect your digital devices such as your PC, laptop, Apple Mac or mobile phone. Then, no matter which device you are using, you can access and share your files and folders while on the move. Connectivity is vitally important. We must get away from the idea of data being stored offline and instead being stored securely online, with access whenever and from wherever it is required. How we use our mobile phone is therefore an extension of our daily computer use whether it's accessing Office documents or keeping in touch with friends through instant messaging or social networks.
	Get connected wherever you are. Thankfully, your mobile phone doesn't have to have a Windows operating system to run Microsoft software. For example, a Nokia Smartphone will run Windows Live services comfortably (Windows Live Spaces, Messenger, Hotmail, Contacts and Bing Search) and since Feb 2009, Microsoft no longer charge Nokia customers for this service. It's fair to say that while Internet Explorer 8 is a great computer browser to use, the current IE mobile browser still lacks the quality to be the best. Alternatives such as Opera Mini 5 (beta) and Skyfire provide excellent mobile internet experiences and firmly set the benchmark for the next IE mobile browser. Skyfire works with Windows Mobile and Nokia phones and has received much critical acclaim, this year winning the 2009 Webby Award for People's Voice best mobile application. Mobile Phone Resources. Of course, no matter what cool apps you install you still need access to the web. Wireless LAN internet access for your mobile is possible if you have a wireless router in your home. However, it's worth taking a look at your current phone package to see whether or not it includes free internet access via your phone operator. For example, most networks offer free internet on many of their phone deals. If you're on a budget, searching mobile phone provider websites may give you the best possible deals. Finally, over at Mashable.com they have a section dedicated to mobile phone software and resources. If you need any further in-depth advice you'll find it there. Remember, many of the software apps you enjoy using can now also be used on your mobile. Take a few minutes to learn which ones will make your life easier.
