Even More Value For Xbox 360 Buyers in Ireland
More value for money.
by

With all the hassle around exam results,
points and third level college places, here at
Software4Students we are acutely aware of what
challenges face young Irish students.
The pressure on pupils to achieve education success is so great
that it's no wonder video game popularity has increased over the
years as the need for escapism grows stronger.
So let's have some good news today then!
Microsoft have announced a price cut for the high-end
version of the Xbox 360 games console.
Therefore, the Xbox 360 Elite 120GB model will now retail at
€249.99 in Ireland.
At this price point it truly offers fantastic value for money
and movie fans will love the Xbox Live experience which allows
high definition movies to be rented and enjoyed without having
to leave your living room.

Console Wars
Casual gamers with a fondness for cars will welcome the rumour
that Microsoft are preparing a 250GB Xbox360 model bundled with
Forza Motorsport 3 for the end of October.
It looks like this new bundle will go head-to-head with the Sony
Playstation 3's Gran Turismo Christmas release.
Usually Gran Turismo is a guaranteed system seller but Sony have struggled so far during this
console generation due to the motion control success of the Nintendo Wii and
the superior game library on offer to the Xbox 360.
The Xbox 360 does appear to have the upper hand though with
exclusive Grand Theft Auto downloadable game episodes such
as GTA IV 'The Lost and Damned', as well as forthcoming
episode, 'The Ballad of Gay
Tony' providing a huge sales boost for the platform.
Competition is great for Irish gamers who will be looking to get
the most from their money, something we strive for here at
Software4Students.
Forthcoming additions to Xbox 360 functionality include
Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm, and even Sky TV.
In addition to all of this, the Xbox 360 will soon have full
on-screen motion control via a device called Project Natal.
Microsoft's ground breaking Project Natal will work in
conjunction with the Xbox 360 and provide unique 3D interactive
gaming experiences which will far exceed even the Wii's Motion
Plus technology which still requires a handheld device.

Gaming and Digital Ireland
The success of Dublin based company Havok (read:
Ireland's Havok in major Microsoft deal) illustrates the
important role that the video games market has in creating new
jobs and opportunities for Irish graduates.
Whether it is Facebook opening a new operations centre or game
developers expanding their company, these are the types of
things which strength Ireland's position in the 21st century's
digital era.
According to SiliconRepublic.com, "Enterprise Ireland
forecasts that by 2020, 70pc of all exports will be services.
You can be guaranteed that 100pc of those services will be via
digital avenues."
The figures speak for themselves.
The next generation of Irish entrepreneurs will be front
line troops in the battle for the economic regeneration of the
country.
The video game market is simply one piece in a much large puzzle
which must be solved if the Celtic Tiger is to rebuild itself
and become relevant again in an economy not solely reliant on
the property market.
